"It has now been four months since I had surgery for a brain tumor...acoustic swannoma/neuromma to be specific. You can imagine the fear of the unknown, but with the love and prayers of everyone from family, Michelle's Angels and friends, I felt a real assurance from God as I went into surgery on October 19, 2010. I had received numerous outpourings of thought and prayers from strangers from Michelle's Angels to friends and family. Letters and phone calls really lifted me up for the task at hand. Prayer Works. Faith is not without reward. Thanks to everyone known and not known for your kindnesses. My tumor was benigh, and other than right sided hearing loss, I am GOOD and back to work. Love and prayers back to you all. May you have the same blessings."

I never had a chance to meet Michelle, but she sounds like a tremendous woman with so much love for her family and others. My husband could barely read through the detail with me as he has been faced with so many fears through my experience also. Please know how much your thoughts have touched me…”

“I wanted to thank you sincerely for directing me to your wife’s wonderful foundation’s website. In this world today where many seem to forgotten the power of prayer and of course the healing power of the Good Lord, Michelle’s Angels serves as a beacon of hope for so many. Although your wife is now with the Lord, the work she (and yourself) started continues to bring hope and caring to a great number of people in need. I offer my deepest condolences, Mr. Knoll for the loss of your wonderful wife and my gratitude for sharing Michelle’s Angels with me and my wife Patricia. May you and your wife’s work continue to grow and blossom to help many more to come.”

“I also wanted to say how sorry I am for your loss. I can’t imagine how incredibly difficult it has been for you and your family. Your wife was and is truly a beautiful person. I use you as an example when my wife and I are in tough times and start to complain about how tough we think things are. “Herb has one of the warmest hearts. The outpour of support, sympathy, and affection we received from him and a group of people we didn’t know was incredible to experience. Michelle’s Angels Foundation gave us a special evening with all of these people. We are so grateful to have crossed paths and to have been chosen to be honored at this special event. We sincerely thank all who were involved – the musicians, wait staff, and all who attended – and especially Herb!!”

“And it meant a lot more when your family are all in Europe, and elsewhere. Knowing that we have people who surrounded us, supported us, caring for us, without having met us or know us, really touched me and my daughters.”

“It is so mysterious how the Lord works. Last Monday, we were told he (father) may never breathe on his own again or wake up. Now, he is getting stronger and fighting the tumor and cancer with all his might with the good Lord backing him. My family and I would like to thank you for all your prayers, kind words and piece of mind...for once, the internet has shown some positive powers rather than the negatives you see on the news and read about.”

“What a blessing you are to us. Ric Stubblefield is our son and how fortunate we feel to have you as a mentor for him. The story in the paper touched my heart so while reading and then it clicked with me who you were. I misplaced the article and this weekend Ric gave us the website. The song is beautiful. I have listened to several times tonight. My sister had very serious breast cancer and has had many trials in her life. The song and your whole story is very comforting to others…Herb, thanks so much for being the boss and mentor that every Mom prays for, for their children…You have been our Angel.”

“I hardly know you, I don’t know your wife but am awed by the uttler love you have for her. I feel that like Michelle, I am blessed to have an immense amount of love from my husband, for better or worse, in sickness and in health.“

“Now I would like to tell you about Kelly. When I met Kelly, she had already battled breast cancer and had a double masactomy. She had been thru the ringer…with little support from her husband, who belitted her and thought of her illness as a burden. …I wish Kelly had had the power of her husband’s love like Michelle has from you and I have from (my husband). Could that power have made a difference? Would she be here today? Maybe not…but my heart aches that she did not have it.”

“My name is Khristie Stoecklein and I heard about the celebration you had at the Bluebird for your wife Michelle. I also read the article in the Tennessean about Michelle’s diagnosis. My sister, Lana, was diagnosed in August with pancreatic cancer. She is 52 years old and before this, considered to be in good health. …I forwarded the article from the internet to my sister…I’m trying to find out as much as I can about Michelle, so that I might entice my sister to reach out to those who have gone through or are going through the same hell she is living.”

“I am reminded of a book I read years ago, “Living well is the best revenge”. Gerald Murphy wrote the book. He was fairly wealthy…hung out with Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald, Picasso, Hemingway, Cole Porter…

…Gerald Murphy and Scott Fitzgerald were on a train heading to Germany to pick up/rescue the Murphy Children.” (Hitler was swinging into action.) On the train, Fitzgerald was upset about how everything was falling apart – their storied time coming to an end. They’d lost a few friends, some were seriously ill. Zelda Fitzgerald was institutionalized for alcohol. And now they were on this rescue mission to Germany – and, of course the treat of war was looming.

Murphy’s response was that unfortunate things happen to everyone – so much so that it can’t be what really matters. What really matters, he aid, is what we invent, what we create for ourselves and those around us.

I salute you, Herb – for your strength and courage, for all that you have invented. The “Angels” is just so perfect…”

“My name is Katherine Pike and I am a life-long friend of Angela Brown’s. I live in Grimsby, Ontario, Canada with husband, Stuart, and 8 year old daughter, Louisa. Stuart is the rector of St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, a very lovely church where Angela was baptized 5 years ago on March 5th by Stuart.

“We, as a congregation, (200 people on a Sun) have been praying for you since we heard about you via Angela. In our home, we pray for you every night! Recently, I was too tired to speak (just a bad cold) so Louisa prayed. And when we got to the prayer “hit list” part she said, “And we can’t forget Michelle, right, Mummy?”
